Star Furniture Group has seen stellar growth over the years. Along its journey of growth, the Group continues to give back to society through its various CSR initiatives. Commitment to social responsibility and contribution to society and marginalised communities come almost naturally to the Group. This is due largely to the philanthropic leadership that has similarly driven the commercial success of the Group The Group founders, Mr. Richard Koh and Mr. Koh Kian Huat, realised early on through their humble beginnings that good corporate citizenship can make a positive difference to society. They firmly advocate the belief that business success is not just about sound business practices. It must be accompanied by strong social values and corporate responsibilities toward the communities.
The management team at Star Furniture Group, takes on the responsibility of identifying needy people, groups, organisations or institutions for their CSR initiatives. Besides funding, the Group also advocates corporate volunteering by setting aside some of their time to make a difference. CSR initiatives for the Group include projects funding, sponsorships, direct donations, volunteering and visits to welfare organisations.
Most recently, the Star family spread some laughter and joy among the patients at the Assisi Hospice in Mount Alvernia.
